Requirements for the Minor
The School of Education offers a minor in special education which provides students with a basic understanding of special education law, the needs of diverse learners, and assessment and instructional strategies to support access to the general education curriculum for children with special needs. The minor in special education is available to students in all majors. Students pursuing elementary and special education dual licensure are required to take five special education courses and ED 438 in addition to those required for the elementary major. Non-education majors take five courses- four required, a choice for the fifth course, and ED 438 . Required of all Special Education Minors:
